Moyes gets big Klopp encouragement on defender

|

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has put the Hammers on red alert by claiming that alleged target Nat Phillips can leave the club.

The Hammers have been linked with the Liverpool defender along – again – with  Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Nathan Ake at Manchester City.

Twenty four year old Phillips was involved in  Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Milan but came away from the game with a fractured cheekbone which is likely to keep him out of action until the new year.

Now, however, it seems that when he does return it could be in another club’s shirt with Klopp admitting he could be on his way.

Klopp and Moyes are on very good terms and it begins to look a reasonable assumption that this could happen with the Hammers facing long term injury problems with Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbnonna facing long term injuries.

“I’m very happy that Nat is here, to be honest, but we will not block anything I think,” Klopp told his pre-match press conference as reported by the likes of 90 Min.

“It’s not the plan at all but who knows what happens until January…

“It’s not the luckiest moment for this (an injury before January) but by the end of January he will be completely fine, definitely. Probably in the middle of January, I don’t know exactly.

“We will see everything will be completely fine. It’s not complicated, it’s just not cool. We will see what it does mean exactly but in the long term it’s no problem because everything will be fine for Nat, definitely.”
