Moyes is going nowhere!

|

David Moyes is not considering a return to Everton despite speculation in the papers this evening.

The Daily Express are one media outlet to wrongly suggest the 58-year-old is considering his options and could leave West Ham this summer.

The tabloid wrote, “Everton will begin the search for Carlo Ancelotti’s successor in the very near future and David Moyes would reportedly ‘consider any offer’ from his former employers.”

Club insiders say the truth could not be further away from the unfounded speculation this afternoon with Moyes fully committed to the Hammers.

David Sullivan and Moyes’ brother Kenny agreed on a new three-year deal last week with the paperwork being finalised as we speak.

An official announcement on the club website is expected later this week, putting this nonsense to bed once for all.

Maybe Everton would be better off re-employing another former manager, we hear Sam Allardyce is currently available 😉

I doubt Everton want him, they could have made a move for him on a number of occasions but they opted for other managers. One swallow doesn’t make a summer.

Sam Allardyce is nearing 67 years old now, Sean. He wouldn’t be interested in any long term appointments any more. Of course Wee Davey would consider any offer from Everton or anyone else for that matter. Wouldn’t expect anything different. Bit like West Ham entertaining bids for Declan Rice. We don’t want to move him on but if someone wants to give the football club £400 million for his release – West Ham and Rice may reluctantly go their separate ways.

Before I become 100% confident, I would like to see The Moyesiah actually state that he is going nowhere. Call it West Ham pessimism, but if it can happen to us, it usually does. So while I am pretty sure he will be our manager at the start of next season. I would just like him to say so.

    • Taffyhammer says:

Egg on face Mikey. Wee Davey says so then for whatever reason he’s shown the door. Last one to ‘commit’ to keeping his job for another 15 years was Alan Curbishley. Then he jumped ship claiming he was pushed. Not up to DM to declare his future but all things considered it looks like he’ll be with us for the rest of his new contract at least. Maybe Scotland might come calling? Hopefully not. COYI

The thing I like about Moyes and the reason why he works with our club, is his integrity.
He commented recently that money is not his driver and although I know talk is cheap but I’ve always got the impression Moyes is a man of his word.
Going to Everton would be a mug move anyway, they were way below us on points, in the end (with ancelotti) no European football and Moyes would have buy half a team, make them gel, play good football and win something or get euro place in his 1st season.
Everton fans think they deserve to be winning things, when they haven’t won for years, Moyes risks being sacked in a season and going back into football obscurity

    • Paco Jones says:

6 points is not way below. Everton were just below West Ham before Lingard joined with games in hand, Lingard has gone yet you think Everton needs half a squad to compete? Out of interest why should Moyes show loyalty when the 2 David’s sacked him? The last part of your post is ridiculous because the same thing could happen at West Ham as history has proven. I personally don’t think Everton will go for him and I doubt Moyes would want to go to Everton seeing as they’ve overlooked him on a few occasions.

He strung Everton along, run down his contract, and went to Utd on a free after 11 years of loyalty.

  • Tif says:

I would be confident in Moyes staying loyal, were it not for the fact that we know he loves Everton, and the family home is in that part of the world, but mostly because he was shafted by our owners after his first spell In charge and told he wasn’t high enough level for them. Well maybe Moyes could now tell our owners that they are not high enough level for him and move back to Everton where he’ll have a new stadium being built and a much bigger budget to spend on players.

Benitez could be a good choice – popular and lives close.
