Moyes issues relegation warning

|

David Moyes has issued a stark relegation warning to reporters yesterday following West Ham’s 4-1 defeat saying his players and himself will not be around next season if performances don’t improve.

“They have been told this was miles and miles away from where I’m going – or they are going,” Moyes told reporters in Wales.

If they are going to play like that, then there’ll be none of us here. The players need to show a wee bit, but I think they are good enough to do that. But they definitely all need to up their levels, because this wouldn’t be good enough to win the games we’ve got coming up.”

Before, I thought a point a game could get us to 40 points, as that was the old-fashioned figure, but we’re now finding we need to do more than that, I like the message to be that we’re going to be fine, but the truth is we’re not fine yet. I want us to be positive and we are capable of winning games, but at the moment we have to find a way of not conceding goals.”

We could always try eleven at the back for the next nine weeks .
No , seriously though it seems that motivation and moral have plummeted during these last three weeks . The question is how are you going to improve things and get some upbeat feeling back into the team , Mr Moyes .. I don’t remember how many times I’ve heard this as a fan/supporter over the years that we’re “ too good to go down” , but I don’t hear anybody saying that this season and that’s worrying . Even the fans are starting to lose Thier optimism . Self doubt has krept into the team . Injuries continue to plague us and issues off the pitch are not helping either . Six of our last nine games are at home , but that doesn’t even sound too promising given our home record . It’s going to take a massive effort of will and determination and hard work from here on in . I sincerely hope we can demonstrate those qualities over the next nine games or , yes , relegation could become a sad reality .

We are in deep trouble no question. And I saw on here that we have the second worst run in- made even worse on Saturday. But looking on the bright side I have seen over many years of relegation battles that run ins are very unpredictable. Playing Man U or Chelsea will not be as difficult if you get them when they have just had a tough CL tie overseas or a tough FA cup replay. Also a top half side might be less scary when they are safe but with no CL or EL place to fight for.
Saturday will be very big because it will show whether Moyes can get some fight back into the team. I think if we win that we stay up & if we lose it we go down. A draw & it is odds on relegation but still a chance. But our defence has gone back to its pre December hopeless state, so we can’t even park the bus to grind out three draws. And it will now be a makeshift defence anyway.

we have just played a side in the bottom 3 coming off a mid week cup game and still got beat 4-1 !

For me, it boils down to intensity, and the serious lack of it. Swansea came out wanting a fight, and they were impressive. Every 50/50 they won, and they just wanted it more. That’s the difficult thing to fathom. All you have to do is go out there with some aggression and fight for it. Press them as a team, like we did earlier in the season, rather than sitting back and inviting pressure on an already vulnerable defence. I don’t care if we lose. I do care if, for just 90 minutes, there is no fight.

I care if we lose , Mr Buddy . It’s the worse case scenario . Lose this game = no hope .
Draw this game = some hope . Our squad is completely at disarray decimated continuously by injuries . The Players available must stand up and be counted for the pride of West Ham United . It’s obvious that we need a younger , fitter squad , that can heal after a knock back through a relatively small injury … we don’t have that at the moment . Moyes has the toughest job in the Premiership right now . Fighting against relegation and outside influences that have nothing to do with Football . The Fans need to stand in Unison with the Team and Board untill the final day . It may well come down to the final day where goal difference could see us Up or Down . We have the players to see us safe if they are given the right encouragement instead of protests which cause nothing but harm .

Worse case scenario is having to beat Everton to stay up. With Alladyce waiting to gloat.

Its just been one car crash after another the club has been a mess for the last 3\4 years and me like the majority of the fans have had enough ..there is no break from it ..its just bad news constantly every season and !like I said the majority of fans have just had enough ..its time to say enough is enough they the board have had ample time to sort it but we just get lies after lies and no money spent …I took the bait when they said world class stadium world class players and we are going to buy a 30 million pound striker and so many other promises over the last few years …well the brum fans were spot on ….we march march march …until they go …in my opinion …rol! On the protests
