Speaking to The Times, West Ham boss Moyes lifted the lid on what his role for the summer will entail.
“I went to the 1998 World Cup, as a member of the Tartan Army but this time I will have to keep my professional hat on,” Moyes told The Times.
“Uefa has invited me to join its team of technical observers. We’ll be tasked with analysing the games and compiling a report on the tactical trends the football throws up. I did the same at Euro 2016 and have been helping Uefa analyse this season’s Champions League.
“Football keeps evolving, and in every season and at every tournament we see something a wee bit different.”
The 58-year-old manager is currently enjoying a short holiday with his family in Scotland but it appears he will soon be back on duty both in his summer job within UEEFA and West Ham’s pre-season which starts in early July running up to the start of the Premier League season in August.
Moyes will no doubt use his technical observer to do a bit of scouting for the Hammers on the side.
The Scotsman is soon expected to sign a new three-year contract putting to an end speculation that he could jump ship and return to Everton.
