David Moyes is hopeful that Maxwel Cornet will be available for the game against Anderlecht later this week but there is very little chance of him making the squad for today’s game against Fulham.

Cornet has suffered a thigh injury and although Claret and Hugh was told by an insider that it was expected he could be back within seven to 14 days it is expected to be closer to a fortnight than a week,

That was confirmed by a scan following the injury against Wolves with Moyes himself later making the position clear

“We think he’s got a small calf strain,” said Moyes. “I don’t think it’s as bad as maybe we first feared, but it’s still gonna keep him out for certainly a few days.

“Hopefully, he’s back next week, but we’ll need to see how he is.”

The news will come as a welcome boost as our Hammers look to continue the recent turn in results, having won our last 2 competitive matches against Wolves and Anderlecht respectively.

It seems likely that Moyes will return to very much his first team for today’s game with perhaps Alphonse Areola taking over in goal from Lukasz Fabianski after his heroics in the first leg Conference match against Anderlecht.

Possible team: Areola; Kehrer, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek, Paqueta, Bowen, Fornals, Scamacca
