Moyes offered another job!

|

David Moyes has revealed that he was been offered another job since taking over at West Ham but decided to stay at the London Stadium.

And as  speculation swirls around his future at the club he made it clear that whatever the outcome it won’t be a problem to him.

Speaking ahead of the game against his former club Manchester United, he said: “I could have joined a Premier League club during the season here when I was West Ham manager.

I chose not to. But I’ve got other things if it’s not renewed. It’s not a problem.”

And he added: “I’ve really enjoyed London. I’m saying it with a smile on my face. The players have been good as well. The players have helped.

“Sometimes players want to be put in line and want to be told this is what we’re going to do. Players want to be organised and prepared for the games the best they can.

They might not be good enough but I think they want to have it and the players here would turn round and say they were prepared for every game they went into.”

He still carries a sadness that thing didn’t work out at Old Trafford adding: The time was too short for me, for what I hoped for. But time’s moved on. You can see what’s happening in football, just the pressure of the jobs.

If you’re at the top with those clubs you have to win and be winning trophies. There’s another level for the clubs at the bottom. If you’re not staying out of the bottom three regularly then you’re liable to lose your job there as well. That’s been seen a lot in the Premier League this season.

“I don’t want to be a manager who celebrates avoiding relegation. I want to be trying to win things and getting into Europe would be seen as something to celebrate. But there are a group of clubs now who might be right to celebrate staying up.

“The money in the Premier League means to drop out is so dramatic for everybody at the club. From that point of view we should be really pleased given the position we were in when I came in, but I don’t think I would want to run round waving to the supporters because we’ve avoided relegation.”
