Moyes on Fernandes and Randolph

|

West Ham manager David Moyes has answered reporter questions on Gedson Fernandes and Darren Randolph in pre-match press conference at Rush Green this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s evening Premier League game against Sheffield United.

Asked what the latest was on Fernandes Moyes told reporters: “We’re linked with lots of players. He’s one name which we are talking about. I couldn’t tell you since I have come into training and to the press conference. More importantly, he’s a young player for the future and good pedigree.”

Sky Sports have reported this afternoon a 18th month loan without an option to buy had been agreed in principle but the Gaffer seemed blissfully unaware of any updates.

Asked about the chance of the Darren Randolph transfer still happening he added “At the moment, he is carrying a bit of an injury he’s had for several weeks and we have to make sure it has healed. That’s where the delay is and I’m very hopeful.”

Perhaps moyes thinks Randolph is better than the second and third choices, even with one leg or one arm.

  • George Green says:

Blissfully unaware does not seem a good condition for a manager to be in about a prospective loan or transfer.

The art (for a manager) of handling talk about transfers that are not finalised – keep the fans believing that something is going to happen without giving any actual information

Seems that Moyes is doing this quite well
