Moyes refuses to accept City are unbeatable

|

DaMoyes3vid Moyes refuses to accept that Manchester City are unbeatable and hopes the Hammers prove exactly that on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the game at his presser he said:  “Against Manchester City there’s probably less expectations on you in many ways, but we’ve got to find a way of going there, being competitive and in the game

“I don’t want to say there’s no expectation. There is an expectation. We have to try and win all the games. We’re in a worse position than Manchester City. They might be saying they have to win to stay at the top but our position is as big in that we have to get away from the wrong end of the table.

“I see the players here having a strong mentality and a fighting spirit to make things right. We’ve tried to do bits to have a better shape and start from a stronger position.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever gone into any game not thinking we’re going to win, or we’ve got a chance of winning, or we’re going to get something out of it.”

“We’re going up against the most in-form team in the league. But that doesn’t mean to say they’re unbeatable, because they will be beaten somewhere. We hope that it’s us.

“I think we’ve seen some teams play well against them. Huddersfield had a real go. Southampton had a really good go. I think there’s ways to play against them. I think they’ve got weaknesses and I don’t think they are completely unflappable in what they’ve got.

Right I think he has been good in media. And should always thiinknu can win. City are vulnerable SH & Huddersfield played them well.
And anything could happen Palace beat Chelsea twice. No game is a guarantee.
Hopefully playing top 6 teams will make us show up more.
Anything is possible we can win & if we do I’ll should myself but Manager should never say can’t win. Right tactics & setup can win any game

I just hope that City take it easy on us and don’t score more than five goals.

How refreshing to hear our manager saying we want to win every match we play ! Who ,who has ever played football , ever gone on the pitch and not wanted to win ! The people who say we are beat before we have even played haven’t had a very good football experience IMO !
Yes its a possibilitie we will get beat but football is a funny old game init!!! And were west ham ? I only get the hump after we get beat never before the match ! Coyi make me happy !!
    Well said Moyes .👍

    Hilarious …

Why does such a person make such a stupid comment as this ? We have no defence & Man City score hatfuls of goals against teams who DO have a defence. Moyes is just holding himself up to ridicule by saying this. Why not be a little more humble & restrict himself to saying that we will try as hard as we can & hope for the best ? Surely he knows better than to make these sort of statements having had 3 games to discover just how useless West Ham are right now.

Guardiola is quoted in the paper today ‘I am worried about West Ham’. This man needs help. Maybe he is a secret Hammer lol. Think he is mad enough after his ridiculous performance with Redmond the other night. Redmond should have told him where to go, but he is deluded enough to think Pep might want him at City , so of course said what a great manager he is. Pathetic.

  • jimbo says:

Now I’ve something in common with Pep as I’m worried about West Ham too! ditto Laz, we can’t be beaten until we cross that white line. In which case perhaps we should consider not turning up!
Moyes said we were frightened at the start of the Everton game. In which case I hope Lewin has packed plenty of extra large corks in his bag because he is going need something to stem the flow cascading from 11 backsides come Sunday.

    Tortoises and hares jimbo 😂

I will not be happy if we lose but if we could at least put up a performance e.g. Like Huddersfield did against them I will be a bit more positive. I think it is so important over the next month that Moyes at least gets some spirit into the side, even if (as most of us fear) we get zero points & are bottom come the start of Jan. That is normally seen as the death sign but there have been exceptions. I think we have accepted that this squad is not good enough. I would love to be proved wrong, but it looks as if some good signings are needed. But we can’t buy a whole squad so something has got to improve within the current squad to give us any chance.

Nothing new there ; all teams are beatable if you run your legs off and don’t concede and score goals . Good grief , it’s a bit like spotting UFO’s . They only exist because they are unidentifiable . West Ham’s problem is they are definitely identified as the team to get out of trouble against . We are not hard to play against . Can’t see City having a hard time of it on Sunday . Not unless we become like UFO’s .

  • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

Yes 64 , but it was the board telling us its the best squad we’ve had in eons ? But it was all just brand bull💩 selling talk!! But let’s hope Moyes can find something in their but his team selections are needed to be better ! Hard I know but sakho needs a start with the pea when fit
Antonio and massuaku on both flanks with lanzini pulling the strings on his own?he needs an oppo for sure in Jan not offloaded in Jan to the skidmarks lol. The rest are there to be picked not on merit but because they are there !! No matter how you try to balance this side it will fall over ! Jan can’t come qui k enough but what will £4-50p buy us and who would want to come in ? Maybe some freebies and 35 year olds ? Do the business sully you’re a genius at it?
