Moyes sting in the tail for Noble

|

6MarkNobleDavid Moyes is notย  proving the most difficult man to read and thus his comments today on Mark Noble seem pretty revealing.

After just 90 minutes at Watford the manager decided to relegate the captain to the bench for the game against Leicester City making it clear that he required more pace in midfield.

Not unnaturally he faced questions about the move in his pre-match presser and said: “It wasn’t anything to do with (making) a statement.”

“I have only been here a few weeks but the people around the club speak so highly of him and I can only say that the time I have been with him, even today, he is driving everybody on making sure they are doing the right things in training.”

Then came the sting in the tail as he added: “We decided to go with a bit more pace in wide areas, we brought Arthur in on the left Manuel into the middle and that was the reason, to give us more speed.”

And his position became even clearer when asked whether he would be in the team on Wednesday Moyes replied: “He will definitely be a part of the squad.”

Moyes is beginning to grow on me !! There is aplace for Noble in the squad . He has 45 minutes to cut up the half time oranges … even someone as slow as him should manage that …. COYI

Nobes legs may be going, but have a bit of respect you idiot..Nobes has played over 400 games for YOUR club..The thing is, your not even funny bubbles..

Sorry to say its true. The game today is all about pace, either dominating with it or hitting on the break.Same applies to slow static forwards who are used as impact subs more and more now.Hazzard and Salah are great examples

When the trolley came on the pitch on Friday the couple behind were asking what’s happend ? I told the chap it was noble coming on as a sub for the injured player the lady cracked up !! ๐Ÿ˜‰

lol Laz, anyone notice the Leicester fans cheering at that point, it certainly sounded like it from where I was and I get fairly riled up about it, jeering an injured player off on a stretcher not good if so.

Noble is good in the squad sounds like he did more coaching then Bilic did.
I like Moyes Honesty that is refreshing. Think taking Noble out can make a big difference.

No32 has hit the nail on the head. Nobes has to move on in order to extend his playing career ( we cannot afford slow subs nowadays), or alternatively he considers a coaching role with us. And let me add my support to Carroll going the same way. We need pacey runners up front, not glass statues with huge wing-spans!

    • JRS says:

I’d take him in a coaching role he has been doing it & the players look to him off the pitch.
But I’d be ok if this was his last season & went in to coaching. Add some pace & skill.
I look at Watford’s CM depth & I’m jealous. That might not be the fastet but have diff skill sets.
I think Chabaloh been a great buy Doucoure, Perya, Capoue, Hughes, Clevery & more that is some depth. & Clevery might not be greatest bit gives solid performances every game Docoure is a beast. All of them what depth.
They have 3 clubs a good scouting network. But we should be able do to that as well.
