Moyes updates Zouma

Kurt Zouma remains injured and David Moyes can’t put a date on the central defender’s return to the first team.

In giving an injury update the manager is careful not to start any false hopes over a comeback whilst claiming that the problem doesn’t look unduly serious.

The manager updated reporters after the FA cup win against Derby by saying per NowNews West Ham – Six Foot Two (6foot2.co.uk) saying: “He’s back. We think there’s a little bit of a tear at the top of his thigh.

“We’ve not really put any date on it because we generally are trying to get a correct diagnosis, how long we think he is going to be. He is a very quick healer, Kurt, if I’m being honest so hopefully, it’s not going to be too bad.”

The 28-year-old centre-back underwent knee surgery in mid-November and has only just returned back to action in  on 21 January against Everton.

Zouma was witnessed to be limping throughout his return game at the London Stadium but many supporters have observed that appears to be part of game  and he always looks injured.

However, the Hammers have been boosted by the return to very decent form of Oggy who has looked far more like his old self over recent games.

And it looks probable that he will partner Nayef Aguerd in the weekend match against Newcastle at St James Park after captaining the team to victory over Derby County.
