David Moyes has had his fingerprints over most things since his return to the club and intends to change and improve an awful lot around the place over the forthcoming months.
The words remarkable and incredible have been used time and again to describe his achievements but they probably don’t come close to evaluating the way he has turned the place around.
But he is now making it absolutely clear that he has much more to do at West Ham – things he admits have been on his mind for a six months.
It’s an exciting proposition given what he’s done already – put another way it’s as though he is saying that what we have seen so far are merely the foundations and that truly is something to become very excited and expectant about.
He was in ebullient mood during is presser explaining the areas in which he intends to address next season and beyond.
He said: “The truth is I’ve probably been looking forwards for six months of the year to what we’re going to do next year, and how we’re going to make this team better.
I keep using the word ‘grow’ – how can I grow it a little bit better and a bit stronger? I’ve probably been at it all the time. I don’t think I’ve ever stopped thinking about the future and what I can do to make things better.
If that’s referring to players and new members, then we’re looking really hard at what we’re going to do, but also growing and making the Club better: I want things better around the training ground and I want some things better around the stadium.
There are lots of things I want to build and grow, but with regards to players and what we’re going to do next, we do need to add to what we’ve got for next season.”
