Moyesie keeps the cards close on Mikey & Cresswell

|

David Moyes insists he is not going to give anything away regarding Mikey Antonio and Aaron Cresswell’s injury status after the 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

The Hammers had to fight for the three points against the Villans, and an emotional strike from Andriy Yarmolenko, plus a strike from Pablo Fornals, eventually saw off Steven Gerrard’s side, despite a late goal from Jacob Ramsey.

It was a concerning sight, though, to see both Antonio and Cresswell limp off with what appeared to be muscle injuries.

Antonio was replaced by Yarmo, who would go on to score that wonderful opening goal, while Cresswell was replaced by Ryan Fredericks.

It comes before a big week of football in which the Hammers play Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 16 clash and then face Spurs in a big London derby next weekend.

And, as a result, Moyes is refusing to give any indication as to the fitness of the striker and the left-back.

Speaking after the game, as per Football.London, he said: “I don’t know but if I did I would not tell you and give Sevilla a heads up.”
