Moysie on an Iron “who deserves all the plaudits he gets”

|

David Moyes is delighted with the impact made by Jarrod Bowen in the absence of Mikey Antonio over the last two games.

Jarrod was exceptional in both games against Manchester United becoming the only player to retain his place from last weekend’s defeat against Manchester United in the EFL third round victory.

There has been much discussion about his future over recent days but it’s very clear that David Moyes believes him to be a real talent and has no intention of allowing him to go anywhere.

He was asked to take on the central striking role in both recent games and showed himself a player who was ready to take on any job the boss wanted and indeed make a real success of it.

It’s likely that Mikey will be back for tomorrow’s game at Leeds but wherever he plays the former Hull wideman is bound to have a big effect on things in his present form.

And discussing him at his pre-match presser Moysie said: “I always thought Jarrod was capable of playing up front and given the chance to play the role he’d be fine at it.

He’s such a good boy to work with, he’s happy to play anywhere and wants the games. He deserves any plaudits he gets because he played very well the other night and showed he’s versatile.”
