Well, it might not be Charlie Cresswell, but it does appear that West Ham United are about to strengthen their defence if breaking reports are to be believed.
Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock has emerged as a potential signing for the Hammers, according to The Telegraph. To be fair, it’s a name I’ve not seen mentioned before, and I’ve no idea how much truth there is in the claim.
The 32-year-old Londoner has played just three times for the Bees this season and is reportedly available. That said, other clubs are also said to be interested in Pinnock, who boasts significant Premier League experience and has racked up close to 200 appearances for Brentford.
No Room for Pickiness at West Ham
The potential signing of Pinnock might not be the most inspiring move, but West Ham have long since lost the right to be picky given the poor state of the team’s current league position.
At this stage, availability may and willingness to join have probably limited the Hammers options to very few players. After all, who in their right mind wants to board a sinking ship?

This is pretty much what we can do with – no nonsense defenders with Prem experience who want to play. We’re not in a position to be picky, sign him up.
Yes Gonzo who would want to join us. Who is to blame, Sulivan!
I think Ethan would be a good buy and might be prepared to stay if we get relegated
I’m not super excited by this but… worth remembering how fans reacted to Craig Dawson’s transfer originally. And what we’d give for a player like that in our situation now!
Not Pinnock please
Not right age group
Need a quick , young player who has been playing regular
Get Cresswell in at all costs
The right age for the situation I would say, good in the air, good positional sense. In you come Ethan!
