New West Ham kits leaked

|

A Club officially announcing a new Premier League kit without a leak on social media seems a rare occasion in the modern world and this season’s Hammers kit launches are no different. A photo spread on Twitter early this month was denounced as a fake but we have been told these are the real deal.

Two weeks ago we revealed that the West Ham home kit for next season would be based on the 1976 Claret and Blue Admiral kit without a collar. We also revealed that the Away kit would be mostly White inspired by the 1980 FA Cup Final kit without the collar. The third and final kit is claimed to be all Navy thought to have been inspired by the 2000/2001 Fila shirt worn by Paolo DiCanio when he scored a famous goal against Manchester United.

Please tell what you what about the new Home and Away kits leaked today?

These are both tasty!! Think i prefer the away kit but might have to buy both.

  • Lynda says:

Love the home kit but away looks like a t-shirt

  • PaulW says:

I wouldn’t want kits that leaked. Especially when it comes to squeaky bum time

  • John Mills says:

Awful, home kit has too much claret going on, what with the shorts. Straight lines on the chest are nowhere near as sharp as the ‘V’ on the original 80’s kit.

    • Mark Ellis says:

Agree re too much claret on the home kit. Crisp white shorts ooze class. Bobby Moore’s we’re still white after 90 minutes, hardly ever needed to go to ground.
But on the claret, is it not possible to actually match the precise claret of the socks to the shirt/shorts? Looks like someone got the best match they could whilst out shopping, albeit they went out without the shirt to compare.

It does seem to be a bit busy. I recognise that the shirt it’s based on is iconic for us (I even have a replica), but I much prefer plain claret with blue sleeves…

Not bad but dont like claret shorts white much nicer and classy

  • aol says:

Last season’s were much better, apart from the awful 3rd strip.

  • Dom says:

Don’t like the home kit. looks more like a Villa kit to me. The away kit is OK. The trim is alright but not much to say about an all white kit.

Not too bothered though, as long as they play well, I couldn’t care less what they wear.

  • Matt says:

West Ham DO NOT wear claret shorts and socks at home ! Swap the shorts and socks around and you’d have two decent kits . What non West Ham idiot thought this would be a good idea ?

  • Lawson Regis says:

The home kit should have had the white shorts, and the away kit should have had sky blue shorts and claret sock….

  • MikeL says:

Home kit – what a god awful adaptation of what was a classic kit. Absolute crap. Lazy design and poor colour coordination with severe lack of white. One of the worst kits of last 25 years. Away kit okay.

  • Mark Ellis says:

I’d be interested to know if the precise Pantone colour of West Ham’s kits etc have changed over the years? I think it probably has. Also think Burnley’s claret is different to ours, as I often seem to prefer their colour combination.

  • PAUL GARNER says:

home kit is ok but prefer the lines on chest to be a V shape the away kit too plain i prefered the fake design with claret and blue on the chest

  • Tiddles says:

I’d have both. I’m in Melbourne so I will wait when they are cheap haha

  • matty53 says:

you have missed the point of the claret shorts you would probably have a pair of white ones
and not have to buy new shorts

  • the iron man from essex says:

Not sure about the home kit but on saying that not many of them since Umbro took over. I’m sure I’ll get used to it though. What’s happened to shirt, shorts & socks? Could be a adult West Ham onesie. Will keep the little pampered darlings warm during the winter months I guess.

I still wear the navy blue from PD’s time, jobserve on the front (at home), last season’s away was navy wasn’t it? Best kit for years
Of course both are ruined by having to put up with BETWAY across the chest. Being a middle aged man & can’t really walk around with a football top on unless I’m going to the games. Just picked up this season’s without BETWAY on it, much better.

  • Ian says:

The only thing I don’t like about the home kit is the claret shorts and socks, it should have the same as the away kit. But I love the home shirt!

The away kit is good, but I would like to see what the shirt would look like matched with blue shorts.

  • What’s with the claret shorts?? Especially with claret socks it looks more like a Villa or Burnley kit. Home shirt is ok but can’t believe any genuine West Ham fan working for the club would sign off this design combo. Worst kit in many years imo.
