Newcastle pip West Ham to Slimani loan

|

IslamSSlimaniLeicester has agreed to loan Islam Slimani to Newcastle for the remainder of the season beating West Ham to his signature on transfer deadline day.

West Ham offered a deal which with a loan fee, wages and the agent’s cut exceeded £5m but Newcastle won the race even though they made a much lower bid of £4m including a loan fee of £2m and wages and agent fees topping another £2m.

A West Ham insider said we know the player’s agent well and the player said he wanted to come to us but Leicester decided to do a deal with Newcastle even though we outbid them.

From that I would guess the player didn’t fancy us.
    Who could blame him really?

article says the player wanted to come to us, but Leiceter didn’t want that

        Yeah, I read that bear.
I just think it’s a little strange that the player himself appeared to have no say in the matter?!?

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

Actually we tried to steal him from them. It was already reported during the last 2 weeks that he was negotiating with Newcastle.

  • mooro66uk says:

Not according to the last paragraph.

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

that doesn’t conflict with the fact that he was talking with Newcastle. I should say his agent was talking to Newcastle as it is always the case that the agent does the negotiating.

These windows are like watching a carry-on film when west ham are involved !!
Gives an insight to the feeling towards west ham if we offered more money and still missed out ! Or is it all just the PR bolloxxx to make it look like they’re trying to do business !
It makes you feel that way I’m afraid ! Still there’s 11 hours left to get a few more laughs 😂

Leicester clearly prefer less money from Newcastle than deal with our Chairman I guess. I don’t actually find it that strange….

I wonder with all these prudish foreign owners whether religion and our owners industries plays any part in this. Certainly with all the press they receive there does seem a reluctance from some to do business with them.

I’ve often wondered whether part of Slaven getting sacked was his comment that he found the “Dildo Brothers” comment funny

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

If he wanted to come and we genuinely bid £1m more for a loan, it is stretching belief to understand why they went with Newcastle, usual media lies again…
