Ngakia gives his final answer

|

CandH Exclusive

Jeremy Ngakia looks set to play his final game for West Ham tonight if selected after again turning down the chance to extend his contract until the end of the season

It will take a massive change of mind in the last few hours allowed for him to agree today and Claretandhugh understands  his agents Playerworks have made it clear there will be no deal done.

They claim to have given their final answer to the club despite manager David Moyes hoping that he could be persuaded to remain on the squad.

And the shocking part of it all is that whoever anyone wants to blame, he walks away from the club that weaned him with 20 per cent of the most difficult season possible season left.

We were told by a Hammers insider this morning by e-mail: “Jeremy Ngakia has 100 per cent turned us down and that looks to be that. There appears to be no way back”

Who would want to sign someone with that character.
When the going gets tough, see yah.
I do hope he is dropped from the squad tonight and told to never return.
Fed up with the club begging. Move on.

    • Robert Macleod says:

West ham had a year to negotiate with him. Its a job and he’s sees that he was underpaid. Simples.

      • They negotiated for six month – never got a reply to any offfer.

Must say feel the same as Dave says and I cant blame the club for greedy players and agents that think they are God in this game now. If correct the boy was offered a good wage at that age , hasn’t been brilliant and showed his still raw early on against wolves before picking his game up a bit better. We have better back ups and once we sell the two full backs and masu we should have enough cash to bring in two quality defenders. So jog on Jeremy and we shall see if he ends up like oxford overrated and struggling.

Expected news from an appallingly run football club.

  • Billy says:

Obviously been tapped up, but just typical of our Micky Mouse planning

  • Osbert Sparrowhawk says:

Stick him on stadium cleanup duties until his contract ends or get Dire to break his ankle tonight then sod him of the ungrateful little turd

  • John Harrison says:

The club should have made an offer a while back. Simple as that. Looks like his success surprised everyone except, to be fair, Moyes. But he could and should have stayed on to help the club through this crisis. Tapped up perhaps by a relegation rival?

    • Been talking six months – made nunerous offers. No answer other than the recent MO

      • John Harrison says:

Thanks Hugh, I wasn’t aware of that. If it hadn’t been for injuries and the fact we have are under-supplied at full-back he would never have got a look-in. This all makes no sense unless another club is involved.

  • mojen says:

It would be the ultimate cringe embarrassment if he he plays tonight If there is any pride at all tell him to pack his bags and leave this afternoon, Disgraceful.Think his career may have just disintegrated. He is not even that good. Average at best and found out a lot on Sunday.

  • EssBeeMUC says:

Well… that’s gratitude for the time and effort to improve his game.
As for the people complaining about how the club is run… could you do any better?

  • hammers64 says:

If that is the case then he should not even be in tonights squad let alone the starting 11.Let him go and start playing Johnson or Fredericks. He has obviously made a Faustian pact with another club and these things never turn out well do they?.Youth is wasted on the young as the saying goes.

  • Kevin says:

The club has been trying to get the contract signed for the last six months but he has obviously been persuaded to refuse ( or maybe it’s his decision alone , which I doubt ) .
A good talent , but unfortunately he deems himself too good for West Ham United at the mature veteran age of 19 . So sod him ., and his greedy agent .
I’m just hoping we get Diangana back !!!

  • GaryD says:

Lesson learned. Move on and forget him.

  • EssBeeMUC says:

Well… that’s gratitude for you. All that time and money improving his game was wasted.
As for those complaining about how the club is run… could you do better? After all, this guy has held off for a better deal although there appears to be a club policy of offering young players a salary based on their experience.
