No Kudus worries

Ghana kicked off their Afcon clash with Cape Verde a few minutes ago and as expected Mohammed Kudus was not in the squad. Claret and Hugh had its card marked by London Stadium insiders that the Hammer would not be involved and so it has turned out.

The player looks set to be involved for the first time on Thursday evening against Egypt with manager and former Iron Chris Hughton deciding he is too important a squad member to be  included in a match where the opposition are believed to be the weakest team in Group B.

There is no update on the No 14 who has been in Ghana’s capital Accra receiving treatment on a hamstring injury described by the club as slight. That he is not involved this evening is very good news given that it is one game less for him to suffer any further problems – always a big danger during internationals.
