Nobes: ‘Let’s have a right good go’

|

I reckon somewhere down the line Mark Noble will be involved tonight.

However, much as I am grateful for his contribution to this club of ours, I hope it’s not from the start of the game.

Seems to me  the captain has come to terms with his position at the club and realises that from here on in he will be playing bits and pieces part for us.

Tonight could see him come on towards the end should we be in the fortunate position of needing to close the game down and of course he’s a must should we be heading towards penalties.

As he admits himself he will need luck at his age if he’s gonna be involved in winning a domestic trophy yet there’s not one of us who hopes he can’t crown a truly distinguished Irons career by managing the achievement.

I feel Declan is likely to start despite looking a little tired over the last couple of games and that Mikey Antonio will miss the game with what we believe to be a little hamstring problem although the manager is calling his issue ‘fatigue.’.

Discussing tonight’s game Mark said: “We’ve had some great history against Manchester United in the FA Cup and hopefully Tuesday’s game will be another one to look back on.

“Manchester United are in good form and have got some top players, but we’ve been playing well ourselves this season and it’s just one where we can go to Old Trafford and enjoy the game as we’re in a great position in the league and have a right good go at it as well.

“There are not many people fortunate enough to play at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ in an FA Cup tie, so we want to make the most of it and obviously we’re going there to win.

“You need a bit of luck and I’m hoping, at my age, that we get that bit of luck and we have a good FA Cup run.”

I think we should be going full guns for the FA Cup. The rich EPL teams are slowly drifting to the top and we are not ready to play Europe. The squad has remained remarkably healthy this season, particularly compared with some of the early high flyers.
FA Cup for Noble would be sweet, and possible.
