Olympiacos and Everton officials named

Latvia’s Andris Treimanis will take charge of the Hammers’ trip to Greece where we take on Olympiacos on Thursday evening.

A a FIFA-listed referee since 2011the 38 year old has much experience of taking charge in European club fixtures and full internationals.

Thus far this season he has reffed  a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier between Hearts and PAOK, a Champions League qualifier between Slovan Bratislava and Maccabi Haifa, and Roma’s Europa League group stage victory at Sheriff Tiraspol.

In the last of those he handed out five yellow cards and one red – his only dismissal in European competition so far this term.

He last took charge of an English team’s game in October 2020, when Manchester City defeated Porto 3-1 in a Champions League group fixture.

He will be assisted by fellow Latvians Haralds Gudermanis and Aleksejs Spasennikovs and the VAR will be Dutchman Clay Ruperti, who was the assistant VAR for our 2-1 victory at Freiburg last time out.

Meanwhile, Stuart Attwell has been named as the referee for our home Premier League meeting with Everton on Sunday.The 41-year-old has refereed West Ham United 20 times in total since April 2008, including the corresponding fixture last season, which David Moyes’ side won 2-0.
