Oxford slams fake headline claims

Oxford-604905Reece Oxford has slammed reports about him  in the Sun Newspaper this morning calling them fake.

The Sun reported that Reece Oxford wants £40,000 a week and a £1million signing-on fee to commit his long term future to West Ham. It adds the defender and the club are at a stand-off over a new three-year contract, although the England Under-19s star denies he has rejected any firm deal.

It adds “West Ham are holding out on meeting Oxford’s demands in full but have made offered him a significant pay rise.Oxford, 17, has two years to run on his contract and is one of the most talked-about young English players in the Premier League and has been linked with £8m moves to Manchester City and Manchester United.”

However Oxford’s response to these reports was one of humour “Lol what am I seeing now #

Yesterday, ClaretandHugh contacted its top source at the club as the speculation intensified and was immediately assured there “is nothing in any of this at all.”

He added: “There have been no inquiries from anywhere but the time of year always sees a certain train of events get underway and there’s always a legion of agents and middlemen ready to start rumours through the media. We are talking all the time and monitoring things and there is nothing to be concerned about.”

  1. The Sun? It’s not even fit for bog paper

  2. Well said BB. And this equally can be said of Sky Sports because it was they who started this story running. They will do and say anything to damage the Hammers as it is not in their best interest for others to join the “big six”. Shame on all of them – Christ I’m even beginning to like the Beeb a bit now!!!

  3. Lol,dont kick the ar*e out of it Kenny, next you will be saying you like Lawrenson 🙂
