West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet may become a late target for Crystal Palace.
The £17 million buy from Burnley is yet another David Moyes signing that has barely had a sniff and interest from the highly experienced Roy Hodgson would again emphasise the West Ham manager’s sometimes bizarre attitude towards the players he brings in.
Palace target Hammer
Moyes is apparently looking for a winger and with Said Benrahma currently refusing to leave the Hammers need to free up a slot in the squad.
Apparently the south London club may want to do a six month loan deal but much will rest on whether the Hammers can get the player they want in the next 24 hours or so.
Cornet scored his first goal for the Hammers at Sheffield United and after a long spell of injury may hope to get more chances at the club.
However, he can play as a forward or wing-back, which would provide cover for Roy Hodgson’s squad as they look to climb towards the top half of the table.
Cornet, the £17.5 million signing from Burnley at the start of last season, was looked at by Nottingham Forest.
Hodgson will be possibly be hoping he has more luck with Cornet than he had when enquiring about Ben Johnson who is now staying at the Hammers.
