West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta finds himself in transfer limbo as Manchester City pursues a central midfielder, with Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle also on their radar.

Manchester City’s reported interest in both Paqueta and Guimaraes creates uncertainty for Paqueta’s future at West Ham. It remains unclear which Brazilian midfielder City will target.

Up until recently, Paqueta has thrived at West Ham since joining from Lyon in 2022, contributing 17 goals in two Premier League seasons. He’s known for his creativity and scoring prowess from midfield.

Despite Paqueta’s strong performances, a report by The Times suggests West Ham fans might not be too fazed by his departure. Journalist Martin Hardy claims there would be “few tears” shed, referencing West Ham’s history of losing key players like Declan Rice.

This potential player exodus comes amidst a larger rebuilding phase at West Ham. Manager David Moyes is expected to leave, and the club is searching for a replacement. Furthermore, several experienced players are out of contract.

There is also the strong possibility that losing Paqueta, a star player, could make West Ham a less attractive proposition for a new manager. This, coupled with the ongoing squad overhaul, presents a significant challenge for the club.

Overall, Paqueta’s future at West Ham is uncertain. Manchester City’s interest and West Ham’s potential transition raise questions about his long-term stay at the London Stadium.

I won’t be fazed at all if he departs. He can be truly amazing when at his best. But his heart clearly isn’t in West Ham. The past couple months he seems like he’s playing at about 60% effort. I’ll gladly take the 85 million and let Steidten spend it on young players.

No one cares anymore this season….the players and manager certainly don’t…

    Paqueta is gone. Moyes gone.
I’m worried about next season 😕
