Report: Pastore’s agent jets into London for talks

|

Javier Pastore’s agent has reportedly jetted into London for talks with West Ham, according to RMC Sport journalist Saber Desfarges.

The journalist claimed on his personal Twitter account on Friday night that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder’s representatives have held positive talks with the Hammers after Sky Sports reported that the Hammers are discussing a deal that could be worth up to £17.5million.

The Daily Express has reported that Pastore earns £158,000-a-week in his deal at PSG, which is due to expire next year.  Our own sources claim the amount is closer £190,000 to £200,000 per week.

While we are told there is some genuine interest in the PSG playmaker, West Ham is unlikely to pay more than their current highest earner Javier Hernandez who earns £145,0000 per week. The chance of signing the player has been described as a ‘long shot’ so unless the player is prepared to take a massive drop it appears unlikely.

If Hernandez has been worth 130000 a week to sit on the bench and joe hart has been worth 100000 a week to sit on the bench, then Pastore is worth 150000 a week all day long to transform our midfield and actually play every game.
