Patience required for £27m Iron

I believe in David Moyes but he sometimes confuses me which some may find easy to understand!

Yes, a very good win against Watford – a game which despite their covid problems and lowly position – was never going to be easy given our recent run of results.

Instead we bounced back in style after an early setback but without Nikola Vlasic who had been subbed after a very decent first half against Saints when performing well.

The same thing had happened at Spurs when he had started to look a real problem for the Spurs defence and the number of fouls he  draws shows he is a proper handful.

Once again, when he arrived against Watford, he looked a guy who is growing with every appearance and let’s remember he wasn’t exactly cheap at £27 million was he?

I was delighted to see him score – simple goal though it was – as I remember former Everton players saying when he arrived that he really is a confidence player who genuinely needs an arm around his shoulder.

I think he will be a top player for the club and don’t believe that there’s any need to keep talking about Jesse Lingard as a result.

Moyes has a habit of bringing players on slowly so patience is required and that may well be rewarded when Said Benrahma is absent during January.
