Payet wins top London player gong

|

He was chosen by a panel of  former players and representatives of London’s 15 professional clubs plus journalists, at a gala ceremony in Battersea.

Payet  pipped Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Chelsea’s stand-out player of the season Willian, Watford forward Odion Ighalo and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil to the award.

Meanwhile, the Hammers were also recognised for their work in the community after winning the London Community Project of the Year award for their Moore Family Foundation Project.

Against those on the list he should be number 1
I find it hard to understand though with 12 games left player of the year can be awarded
If Spuds won the league and Kane gets a dozen more goals and plays brilliant would they still have voted this way,
The same with Ozil, what if he got 3 goals against Barc and they go on and win the big one and he plays out of his skin,
Are all the function rooms booked or is there a hurry to make this decision,
Who really cares one Dimitri has the gong not me but still don’t know what the rush is for

Congratulations dimi payet. First award of many I’m sure. If you told me last year we would buy a player who would become premier league player of the year I would have said no way. But now here he is. Who’d have thought it. What is best about it is sumitro payet is the kind of skilful player that kids love to pretend to be when they’re playing in the park or school playground or just have in their team on Fifa. How many kids round the country will become West Ham supporters because of it? A fair few I’d imagine.

    He’s better than Zidane… We’ve got Dimitri Payet. 😉
Top player, there’s nothing like him in PL. And for PL player of the year: Payet, Vardy, Mahrez or Kantè.
And the winner is… Payet (I hope so).
