Stuart Pearce has pointed to Tomas Soucek as a signing who has added a lot to West ham since his signing in January
Psycho’s return has been widely hailed as the best signing so far for the Irons but he – untypically for coaching staff – has drawn attention to one guy who has really impressed him.
And given that he wasn’t at the club but working more as a pundit when the midfielder arrived – it’s good to hear an ojective assessment rather than within club confines.
Pearce has only been back a few days but has been giving plenty of interviews as he gets down to business and he won’t have any arguments from the fans on the Soucek signing.
He and Jarrod Bowen were widely considered to be two of the best signings we have made in recent years – that they came in the often dubious January window makes them all the more noteworthy.
The new coach is delighted with the mood of the camp and talking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/august/24-august/stuart-pearce-theres-feelgood-factor-club he said: “There’s a feelgood factor at this football Club. I picked up on that in my first couple of days straight away.
The players have got a good spirit about them and we need to build on that. It’s not just good enough to say we had a good end to last season – we need, as a football Club, to post consistency on a weekly basis, and make sure it’s not a boom-or-bust scenario. That’s really important for us.
Once you get that level of consistency, you can start just adding one or two individuals – the right individuals – to come in and enhance it. I was looking from the outside at Tomas Soucek, for example, who came in and has added a great deal to the Club.”
Totally agree with Stuart and the “Boom and Bust” and the “Roller Coaster” ride which we as supporters of this club have become used to.
Hopefully, most of our supporters realise that Stability is the key to ending this and our progression as a club challenging for honours.
Consistency and an end to boom and bust requires patience. From the owners and the fans.
Every time you change the manager, you change most of the coaching staff, unsettle half the team and change a third. You also change the style and philosophy of the club.
So when we say end boom and bust, we’re saying we all need to have a bit more patience when things are not going well with the team, or even an individual player.
I agree with Stuart we do have some good player but we need now stability in the club. We should not be selling but concentrate on moving the deadwood like Wilshire and add acouple of defenders. If possible a young striker to support Haller or Antonio.
