Slaven Bilic has praised the amazing effort and performance levels of Pedro Obiang after another top dsplay at the weekend.
The midfielder made four tackles, four clearances, an interception and 47 passes, including the fabulous ball which led to Aaron Cresswell pass inside for Manuel Lanzini’s match-winning goal.
And Slav said: “Pedro waited for chances. I spoke to him in the pre-season and he played 30-odd games for us last season, not always as a starter, and is a great example for everyone.
“Last time out against Middlesbrough he got the chance and used it really well. If he continues to play like this, the place is his.
“We are going to have the opportunity to have another good season only if we perform like this without the ball,” Bilic added.
“We have the quality, of course, but this is the cruellest league in the world if you are ten per cent below par in any aspect of the game. Sometimes you get luck and sometimes you win the game 3-0.”
He deserves a good run in the team.He does the simple stuff without dramas & is really effective for us in this numbskulls opinion lool
He does Rick, and it;s good that Slav says if he keeps up the performance levels the place is his, should force the others to up their games.

Without meaning to sound too negative, I’ve a nasty feeling the Antonio at RB experiment may be resurrected (although I’m not sure if Byram is fit again).
With the team playing like they were no ones shirt was safe, Obiang has been given a chance & has taken it. He is way too good to sit around coming on for the odd half hour or twenty minutes. We have 3 top Italian internationals in our squad, get everybody on thier game & we have a very good team.
