Pelle achieving perfect balance as Silva is promoted

|

The inclusion of Xande Silva in the Hammers squad of 25 as a replacement for Chicharto is yet another example of the readiness of Manuel Pellegrini to give youth its head.

Claret and Hugh revealed 48 hours ago that the Hammers were considering promoting Silva to the squad – https://www.claretandhugh.info/hammers-consider-xande-silva-decision/ – and yesterday’s news confirms the Portuguese youngster is on his way back from unpleasant summer surgery.

The the medics are delighted with his progress from  bowel obstruction surgery and it’s an exciting moment as we consider the possibility of seeing the much touted youngster in action.

And according to football.london he could even be ready to make the first team squad for a potential Carabao Cup fourth round tie next month, should they make it past Oxford United in round three.

That would be in the week commencing October 28 with the match likely to be on the 29th or the 30th of the month so long as West Ham win at the Kassam Stadium on September 25.

The readiness of Pellegrini to introduce the player into his 25 is more exciting and another move away from those dreary Allardyce years when the youth set up appeared to be all but ignored.

The manager appears to be achieving a good balance with the likes of Grady Diangana and Nathan Trott flourishing on loan whist keeping the likes of Silva and Natham Holland as part of things at Rush Green.

The only sensible thing he could do really , but nevertheless nice to see he did so .

I think it also closes the door on January arrivals
MP rarely signs players in January so short of an injury crisis we are probably not going to see strengthening until next year.

I agree with you in the main part , West Ham Fan No 32 ; but I wouldn’t rule out completely a January sighning . There is no guarantee we shall recall our youngsters from Championship clubs . The good relationship with other clubs is very important . We don’t want to become a totally unreasonable club like Tottenham .

A BIIIIGGGGG applause to the manager in terms of the latest transfer happenings. I don’t always agree with some club decisions, first 11 chosen and some substitutions …. but must support Pelligrini on … releasing Arnie and the rest of the lazy and bad attitude strikers, including Chicharitho. I had massive expectations of the guy, but was badly let down by his attitude and resultant performances. He lost his passion and zest … and non-sense about being a lone striker & getting used to English Premier soccer. As a former footballer, when you have it, you adapt and fit in anywhere. Chicharitho, with his hefty salary blatantly refused. Then … the Xande Silva promotion. Boy, how long have we been waiting for this. Just like Diangana got his chance, so I believe Xander and Holland should too. They will certainly not dissapoint … that’s for sure. So lets shock the world with our academy stars … thats the West Ham way !!!! Coyi – God bless West Ham.
