Pelle gives positive injury updates

|

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Chicharito and Manuel Lanzini have both returned to first team training ahead of West Ham United’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur as revealed by ClaretandHugh earlier in the week.

And Jack Wilshere also came through the week comfortably after making his brief substitute appearance towards the end of the game against Leicester City last weekend.

Aaron Cresswell too has been involved in squad training this week at Rush Green since Wednesday giving himself a real chance of being involved in the Spurs clash.

However, again as revealed by CandH,  Samir Nasri will not be available for the game although the manager seems relatively confident the Frenchman could be involved in the game against Southampton next weekend.

Pellegrini said: “For the last week, Jack Wilshere has continued to train without any problems. Manuel Lanzini returned to work with our squad, as did Javier Hernandez.

“Aaron Cresswell also worked from Wednesday without any problems. Samir Nasri, maybe next week he will start working with us also.”

Pellegrini is particularly pleased to have Wilshere back and from his comments it would be no surprise if the former Gooner gets his chance against the other north London team.

The manager has regularly talked him up since the start of the season and today was no exception at his pre-match press conference.

He said: “When Jack is fit and can work every week with normality, he is a player who can make a massive difference,. “I always say that technical players are the players who decide the games, and Jack is a very good technical player.

“He’s a player that knows this league also, which is so important. He will be a player we need.”

    Fabianski
Fredericks (pace Son) – Balbuena – Diop – Masuaku
    Rice – Noble
    Snoddy – Anderson – Antonio
    Arnautovic

Antonio on the wrong side as I expect Spurs to field young RB prepared for Anderson. Allowing for subbing Snoddy for Cress, switch Antonio and move Masuaku up to RW. Would absolutely love to see Holland make a cameo in this game as well. Manzoni could also be an option instead of Cress. Hernandez/Perez for second sub. That lineup would give us many options to change formations if needed
