Pellegrini calls for big team mentality

|

Manuel Pellegrini has called on his players to up their game for this evening’s game against Manchester United wanting them to at least replicate the second half at Stamford Bridge as he hopes his team can show big club mentality.

The manager told the club’s website “When we play Manchester United we must try to repeat what we did in the second half against Chelsea, we played better than Chelsea in most of the second half but they had some chances at the end as we were attacking. The only thing we need to do is work harder when we don’t have the ball. After that, when you have the ball you have to try to keep it. I’ve reviewed the game and we defended well in the first 20 minutes before the beautiful goal from Hazard. We need to all work together and that’s what we will start with on Saturday.”

Last week Pellegrini told the media that West Ham can beat any team but they need to show and demonstrate a desire to win.

Seems strange to ask the players to replicate the second half against Chelsea. How about asking them to replicate the whole of the previous game against Man U when we beat them three one?
