Pellegrini responds to ‘Do you care’ question

|

Manuel Pellegrini has answered the very clear question: “Do you care?” and spoken of his feelings on other managers being linked to his job..

He was being interviewed by reporters following the main pre-Chelsea press conference and made his position very clear in response to the charges.

It’s hard to share the view that any manager doesn’t care about results after a start to the season which saw us in touching distance of third place.

Obviously at this stage he is on thin ice which, but were he to get a win tomorrow ( Sat), that would become a lot thicker and more solid.

That probably won’t be sufficient to silence his fiercest critics and at a time when he has various selection problems it looks on paper as though another defeat could well be on the cards.

However, many have been around far too long to take anything as a given despite Chelsea under Frank Lampard looking a very good team indeed.

Here’s what Pellegrini told reporters: “I am concerned because we are not having the results that I want.

All of us are concerned because of the seven last games we didn’t win. All the West Ham fans were very happy before these seven games that I did all perfect.

The way we play, it’s a new style of play, they are very happy, we are winning. When you are losing, you cannot expect everyone is happy.

There you must be consistent in what you think, the way you must work. but I am worried that we don’t win. I cannot expect every fan now will be happy. Don’t forget what they think about one month and a half ago.

If they don’t like you, that’s different . When it is just about results. I felt from the first day I arrived here to the last day I always felt the fans behind me but worried about results.”

He claims that as far as managers are concerned he simply doesn’t read what’s currently in the media adding“I don’t read too much. I am working here, as I said, it’s a challenge to come here, to try to grow this club.

When you arrive at one club, you must have a goal. For me maybe, and I said this a couple of months ago, I always want to be in Europe. I want to grow.

It’s not a goal that maybe you will reach but it’s my mentality and I will always try to do it. Maybe it was difficult for me to put a high goal, but if not, I will not come here.

I am not working here just for work. If my work here is just for 12, 14, 15, to be in the Premier League, I am not the manager.”

It annoys me that he keeps saying it’s just a few bad results .it goes way deeper than that and if he can’t see that then he shouldn’t be in the job at all…thebonkyvway I’ll change my mind usbifxwe win our next 6 games on the bounce and that wont happen…he is finished so let’s just move on

Of course he cares as long as his wages hit the account, he should of been put out of his misery after Oxford, Tottenham and Arsenal sack their managers we as normal do nothing, the owners need to act now and bring in a younger manager with vision that can get the best out of the current expensive squad he has assembled.
Forget Moyes and the rest of the Dinosaurs I’d rather take a leaf out of the Chelsea book and go for Rio with joe Cole, they can’t be worse than Pellegrini and at least they will have some passion, at least until the end of the season.
