Manuel Pellegrini gave some team news ahead of Wednesday’s game against his old side City. He told reporters at Rush Green this afternoon that Balbuena and Reid have started doing some training while they must not rush Lanzini back.
Pellegrini told the media when asked about his team news “It is similar. We don’t have any new injuries, we have the same players available. Balbuena and Winston Reid have started doing parts of the sessions with us so that is good news for them.”
Asked whether Manuel Lanzini could start on Wednesday, Pellegrini was cautious saying “We must be careful with him. He did very well in his 15 minutes and the important thing was that he was not afraid and remembering his knee so we will see what the best way is to get minutes in every game. You must be careful when you give more minutes.
That seems to suggest Balbuena, Reid and Lanzini will not be starting this week against City or Newcastle
