Zaba recovers as Pelle muses City selection

|

Ryan Fredericks looks set to continue at right back for the Hammers at Manchester City on Wednesday evening despite Pablo Zabaleta reported to have recovered from a dead leg picked up against Fulham.

Most believed the veteran defender had been hooked at half time after a poor first 45 minutes but ClaretandHugh understands the Argentinian had taken a knock which led to decision to take him off.

Fredericks enjoyed a good second half and  the manager is likely to give the 34 year old a rest as the Hammers battle the odds in Manchester.

We understand that Samir Nasri is now fit to return but it’s unlikely Manu Lanzini will get a start after his impressive return game although a second half appearance will be on the cards.

Either Robert Snodgrass or Mark Noble are set to make way for Nasri should the manager take the opportunity of playing the midfielder against his former club.

But the game is likely to come too soon for central defender Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna and Issa Diop look set to continue their central defensive partnership.

The sooner Balbuena is back the better, we will need him against Newcastle, that Almiron looks like a player, shame we didn’t get him when we enquired.
