Manuel Pellegrini was asked by reporters about Marko Arnauotovic’s future at West Ham after he appeared to wave goodbye to the Wesst Ham crowd at the London Stadium.
The Chilean manager was largely tight-lipped saying “We will see what happens in the next (few) days, it is an issue where the club must see what’s best for him, for the player, for the club, for everyone. We will take the best decision for everyone”
When asked whether the manager had a big part to play in keeping him at West Ham considering his experience Pellegrini responded “I have been a manager for 30 days, sometimes big teams want your best players but we must be very calm about this situation and I don’t want to talk about that as there is nothing 100% sure so we will see how the next days go”
The Austrian was captured on camera with a long face at full time and was one of the first down the tunnel rather than celebrate with his teammates. Shortly afterwards he was spotted at Heathrow when he jetted off to Vienna with his wife.
“We will see what happens in the coming days…” 👀

It’s all getting rather tiring now . What happens is what a happens . If he wants to leave then let him leave but not for a measly £35m . He didn’t seem all that interested against Arsenal imo . Looked like he was sulking most of the time . We need a fully committed Anautovic not a half player . Payet No 2 ?. Maybe , but something needs sorting .
If a player wants to leave for whatever reason whilst under contract, the exit strategy has to favour the club holding the registration. Therefore, only if an offer that is too good to refuse comes in. It’s all well and good that Marko stands to gain a significant pay rise from China, but how does it benefit West Ham? Of course if he hands in a transfer request it adds another dimension of how the club proceed. I’d be inclined to block a move and open the market up to a wider audience in the summer in that scenario
