Pellegrini will reassure Chicharito

|

Manuel Pellegrini is set to reassure Chicharito  he is very much in his plans should he finally accept the job as West Ham manager.

The Hammers boss in  waiting is a big fan of the striker and would have had him under his international wing had he accepted the job as the Mexico’s nation’s team manager in 2010.

Pellegrini is understood as seeing Little Pea as a partner for Marko Arnautovic with Manu Lanzini in behind and will be sitting down to talk with the player to reassure him of his Hammers future.

But before that the 64 year old will be looking at his budget which is likely to be around £65 million augmented by any sales he can generate.

Those on the Hammers danger list will be Sam Byram (valued at around £5 million plus), Jordan Hugill (£8 million), Edi Fernandes (£7 million), Reece Oxford (£10 million) and Reece Burke (£5 million).

That would bring his kitty to £100 million as he prepares to overhaul the Hammers squad.

£65m is a massive amount of money lets be honest, but will it really be enough for Pellegrini?

  • Hammerkip says:

Are you joking 65mil is nothing it will buy you 2\3 decent players if that’s al! Sullivan will stump up then there will be problems ..65 mil ffs..pellegrini will laugh at that amount

    • But it doesn’t matter what you or I think . If he didn’t think it was enough he wouldn’t be here. Not sire of anything positive – ony sure of negatives it seems

      • Hammerkip says:

Not being negative Hugh just being realistic..65 million is nothing in today’s money and it certainly isn’t enough to overhaul the whole squad that needs to be done ..65 will get u 2 decent players or 5 very average players sorry but that’s a fact . You can get a good deal as we have seen with manny but it don’t happen often..

        • In your orld and my world Hammerkip perhaps but just maybe not in Pelligrini’s who took Malaga to the quarters of the CL league amid huge financial problems and brought in very good players cheaply cos he knows the game and the players in it a bit better than us.

I disagree. I actually think 65 mil plus’s sale money is good. I don’t think we need to overturn the whole squard, I think we have some good players but just not the correct balance. I would say we need 2-3 good players, and the. Something to meet up the squard in the correct areas.

You can buy 2 decent players with £65mill

Of those on the above list, given the dearth of technical players at our disposal I would aim to retain, Fernades, Oxford, Burke.

Surplus to requirements are Byram, Hugill, Caroll, Snodgrass, Antonio (love his endeavour , but not good enough on the ball, woeful passing range).
