Pellegrini’s biggest mistake worse than Moyes’

|

A bloke who wasn’t on the pitch this afternoon is actually a very good reason for Manuel Pellegrini getting the push – his name is Jack Wilshere.

We don’t really need to mention the other one who masquerades as a goalkeeper!

£100,000 a week Jack had a pain in his ‘tummy’ and got a sick note as a result today whilst  £30,000 a week Jordan Hugill scored for Queens Park Rangers last night taking his goals tally for the season to eight from 16.

I do have a reason for linking the two!

Hugill was bought by David Moyes and I reckon, in part, that was why he wasn’t kept on at the club. Given that having bought him for £8 million, and didn’t play him he, has no real reason to complain.

Pellegrini, meanwhile, insisted that Wilshere was handed a three year deal rather than the one year contract the board preferred. Given what we’ve seen since is Pellegrini’s misjudgement any worse than Moyes’?

Which, indeed was the biggest of the two mistakes?

Frankly, if Moyes could be allowed to move on for what is obviously seen as an error of judgement on Hugill where on earth does that leave Pellegrini given the Wilshere fiasco.

The words ‘What’s good for the goose is good for the gander‘ comes to mind particularly when it’s followed with such signings as Roberto and  Fornals.

Were he to be handed his P45 like Moyes before him, he would have few complaints given the money he has also spent elsewhere on players who simply can’t cut it.

The  Hugill/Wilshere comparison refuses to go away and I think we know which is the bigger of the two mistakes don’t we?

It’s also worth remembering that Hugill at £8 million cost the same as Albian Ajeti who hasn’t exactly set the Hammers alight.

Dark dark days!

Two days of different emotions: Friday watch the u23s play magnificently, Saturday watch the first team play poorly. The difference in attitude was what struck me most. The u2s moved the ball very quickly – almost always forward but with accuracy and intent. The seniors play everything so slowly . It sounds daft but I would be tempted to swap the managers over! Halajko has been impressive all season, always encouraging players and making adjustments to suit the sutuation. Pellegrini mya have a great back-caralogue but this season he just seems lost. His sunstiturions have always been baffling – the only one he’s got right this season was to bring on Antonio today. I thought Ogbonna was very good too and Rice played well but generally we were just outplayed. I must say that Kane got away with so many pushes and tugs today as tp baffle me. Diop was booked afetr Kane had fouled him! Kane could have deservedly had five yellow cards and Spurs players were dying swans so much of the time.Son spent several minutes being attended to before aprinting away to score the first goal, for instance. I thought players were supposed to be booked when leaving the pitch by walking all the way across it ; Ali did this so blatantly.Having been a referee for many years,I have sympathy for officials and Oliver is acknowledged as a top-class international referee but I was disappointed in his performance today.

The whole squad is an absolute shambles at the moment. On loan players doing well,U23s flying and yet none of them are being given a chance by this desperado of a manager. There is a good starting 11 amongst all this lot but not whilst this clown is in charge. He seems to have no idea of utilising a squad of players.Same mistakes ,same 11 every week with the odd change here and there.Somebody needs to come in and unravel the whole mess. His time is up and surely the owners can see it now.No good putting off the inevitable as it just drags us further into the mire.

Time to stop the usual excuses.
The fact is that the owners don’t understand football and don’t have a director of football who does. Then we bought some players who no sane club would touch due to their poor track record (e.g., Roberto) and sold players who immediately made a positive impact in their new club (e.g., Chicharito at Sevilla).
Whoever gets the job of fixing this mess is going to need to get rid of a lot of people.
This club will be studied for years to come as a clear case of poor management.

I don’t often agree with you Hugh but I do on this occasion. Moyes should have been given the Jon and an opportunity to grow the club like Everton. I liked the way him Pearce and Irvine watched the opposition looked at players old fashioned putting in the miles. Sullivan was had over . I am fed up of seeing disinterested Anderson Yarmolenko and even Dion and as for the goalkeeper I vpcoukd find a better keeper than him

  • The so called referee does not like us the decisions he made were pathetic kane got away with murder and the var verdict was done in record time an utterly useless ref
