Perez deal done and Sanchez flies in for medical

|

West Ham’s summer spending is at an end and speculation that Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente is on his way to the club are untrue.

The story that we could make a move for the 33 year old emerged in the media as a result of Jordan Hugill joining Middlesbrough on loan.

But CandH has been told in the last few minutes that no such move for the Spaniard in on.

We understand that he would have been another £100k a week player and that the manager, Manuel Pellegrini’s first choice was Lucas Perez for whom a deal was concluded within the last half an hour.

Defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez is now understood to be on the brink of moving to the club after taking his medical last night.

Sanchez has won 88 caps for Colombia and played in the Premier League for Aston Villa between 2014 and 2016. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Espanyol.

Don’t know why we have brought in Sanchez,he’s 32,didn’t do that well previously, probably mean Rice won’t play that much now. He’s a Championship player at best. Hope the weather put’s him off or his flight is delayed.

I think if Fernandes is going they need some cover, the players are all going to be working harder off and on the field than at any time previous at our club, which may mean more rotation required especially on the cup games, I agree with you though he doesn’t seem to be a high quality player but maybe MP has seen a quality that we haven’t or maybe he is a Sully punt ?
