Poll: Have West Ham done enough in this transfer window?

|

The transfer window shuts this coming Thursday but West Ham may struggle to bring any more signings in before the deadline arrives.

Manual Pellegrini did want a defensive midfielder after the departure of Kouyate but is struggling to land a target, he would rather leave the position empty and use players from the current squad rather than settle for an inferior player. He is also in the market for a backup striker with free agent Bernard in the frame but again there is a chance this might come off.

West Ham have spent over £100m in signing Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop, Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Fabián Balbuena, Łukasz Fabiański and Xande Silva

We ask the question if the transfer window ended early today without anymore business have we done enough?

I said yes although I would like a CDM or even two.

Funnily enough the lack of a CDM signing was my reason for voting no😄
I really thought, with the cash finally being splashed that we’d be back in for Dendoncker, who apparently wanted to come to us and is young enough should he prove good enough to become a shrewd investment.
Saying all that, not a bad summers activity in comparison to previous windows, made equally surprising by the lack of 🐂💩 from the board.
Long may they keep it up, although I suspect we’ll see more of Brady’s I’ll-informed drivel in The Scum this coming Saturday.

I based my yes on the window as a whole MMG, I think the board have done a hell of a lot, I think Anderson cost them a lot more than they would have liked to pay and we haven’t sold anyone (yet) other than Kouyate who we would consider first team regulars, I would give the window as a whole so far 8 out of 10, if we get Bernard 9 out of 10 and if we could get Maia from Lille 12 out of 10 hahaha

Yeah, I sort of agree mate.
Although whether this change in both spending and media policy would have happened if not for Burnley, who knows?
Problem is we’ve been crying out for at least 2 seasons now for that position to be filled (firstly with Carvalho and then Dendoncker).
Unless Manny’s looking at using Rice in that position I wonder whether the past few years defensive frailities may re-surface?!?
Not being negative (for a change) just pragmatic. We are, after all, West Ham. If it can all go pear shaped……..
I’ve certainly more enthusiasm for the coming season than I had at the end of May though!

I agree we need a CDM – that was perhaps our biggest need

Otherwise we have probably done too much – many players with no Premier League experience – are we sure that Anderson will succeed where Di Maria and Falcao failed – or that Yarmelenko will succeed where Shevchenko failed

It will be interesting to see how we perform this season having opted for all out change compared to Palace who have opted for stability

How longs a piece of string?
A CDM and another striker would be good, but we need to get the first few games under our belts before a considered opinion can be really given. Time will tell, that’s what makes the beautiful game what it is.
If anyone in the pub said after the Everton game we would be spending what we have on who we have in the summer they would have not got many in agreement.
If we don’t sign anyone else we still have a good squad to be getting on with. If there needs any holes to be plugged the Christmas window ain’t that far away.

I believe we’ve done enough. The flanks and attack are highly beefed up. With Snoddy, Yarmolenko, Anderson, Antonio, Lanzini, Martinez and Carrol we really cannot complain. We have only one concern that is not that major anyway, defensive midfielder. Provided Obiang does not leave, we are sorted.

    COYI!!!!!

  • Elf says:

I only said NO because I don’t believe we’ve finished yet but I am happy with what we’ve done already. CDM and a back up striker would be great but the CDM is probably the greater priority. Guessing we’ll play two from Noble, Obiang and Rice. Zabs could probably do a decent job there too and maybe Diop?
