An overwhelming majority of West Ham fans reckon Michail Antonio should be part of the England squad for the Euros.
ClaretandHugh readers have been voting in a poll asking whether the revelation of the season is a player – who unlike Mark Noble – Roy Hodgson should include in his plans!
Slavn Bilic believes the captain could be part of bias against players from what are perceived as unfashionable clubs.
Antonio could fall victim o such thinking if it exists but Hammers fans are in no doubt of his international potential with a hefty 58.9 per cent (652 votes) in favour of him going.
A total of 235 (21.05 per cent ) believed it was too early for him whilst another 222 (20.05 per cent) said they didn’t care one way or the other as they had no interest in the England team!
Over 1,100 votes were cast in the poll.
Really, do we really want him to go..?!?! I’m English through and through but I don’t want any of our players there and risk long term injuries. Not to mention the way Mark Noble has been treated by the idiot in charge….
Any English West Ham player should at least be given the chance , but there are a couple who stand out more than others . No names because they are all , basically being ignored by a Anti – West Ham Hodgson . Hodgson would loathed to think England won a tournament
because there were West Ham players involved . It’s a mental block that the FA should be unblocking . Getting rid of him would help no end .
But having said that West Hams recent injury history whilst being in the England squad is not something we would enjoy again come next season in our new stadium .
But just the same I reckon it’s well overdue for West Ham players to be representing England .,, and most football fans would , I think , agree . West Ham players who are consistently putting in a better than just good performance are being ignored in favor of new faces who have as yet not proven themselves over more than season .
The only way out of this predicament is to show Hodgson the door .
What`s new? This has been going on for years. Not just to us but most ” small clubs” [ with a small number of exceptions] . Seems like if you dont play for a top or fashionable club you can`t be any good.
The one player who should go is Cresswell because he is better then Baines and at the moment the best defender in delivery of balls to there forwards,
Love Mark but don’t think he is good enough and don’t think Antonio would fit into Woys system,and he won’t drop any Liverpoor players from the squad,
