Proof positive: Pogba goal should have been ruled out

David Moyes has every justification for going on and on and on about the Manchester United goal that he claims went into touch for proof positive has emerged that Dean Henderson’s huge clearance did stray over the touchline

The referee’s assistant was seen racing towards the Hammers end with his back to the incident but the video above from a Twitter user clearly shows where the ball went before  being picked up and providing a goal for Paul Pogba.

Once again VAR is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike because it seems crystal clear that this was a goal that should have been ruled instantly and the image below show the same result.

Quite what the point is in having technology when time and again it has proved to show itself so inept is something which certainly has most shaking their heads in despair and disbelief.

There has to be a serious look taken at many of the incidents that have been adjudged wrongly at the end of this season and big improvements need making before the next campaign.

    Oh suck a lemon… that was a superb goal…

    • mooro66uk says:

It was indeed. Nobody is doubting the quality of a superb goal. Only the legality of it. If it happens to United in the future, would you be happy? Notice that nobody is complaining about the other two goals? That’s because they were perfectly legal. So, please don’t attribute it to sour grapes If ridiculous things like this keep happening, it simply erodes confidence in the officials and the Prem League. They have technology in use that can pinpoint a pimple on your bum to a fraction of a milimetre, yet cannot tell when a ball has gone well out of play. They already have goal line technology, why not extend it to sidelines? Then we wouldn’t be reading these comments.

I wouldn’t believe much I see or read on twotter but they showed it on match of the day and put up a computer generated wall and it showed clearly the ball was well over the line before coming back into play. Moyes was right. I think without that goal manu would have been demoralised and we would have gone on to win because we were clearly the better team.

I’m afraid the game of football might as be called lottery. Week after week inept decisions. Will soon be a complete farce as opposed to a partial one.Might as well draw straws. As we now have camera evidence can someone explain why wrong decisions cannot be corrected. Must be integrity of the game. That in the decisions we see game after game

The technology is imprecise. The officials are inept. The ruling body incompetent.
    A triad of stupidity.

  • Rob W says:

It was 1-0 when Henderson sent the ball down the line and out of play, not 1-2. Was this another one missed by the officials?

  • David Thoroughgood says:

That goal is just sour grapes! Once Rashford was on we were doomed! Anyone that knows West Ham knew 1nil at HT wasn’t gonna be enough. Haller is a total waste of space, if you have a big man upfront he need to be a top player otherwise you need pace and he is neither.

  • maschalagnia says:

One moment didnt cause us to lose the game. We lost because we continued to miss chances through the first half. As soon as ManUre brought on pace in the shape of Rashford, we were in trouble.

  • Del PE. says:

Perhaps, maybe, definitely… The fact remains we are not cllinical enough in front of goal, many other ares of our game were much better yesterday.. No comparison whatsoever between the quality of the 2 sides re personnel on the bench Haller… Move on, will never develop into a decent striker in the EPL. Benrhama must start,… Any player who has the ability to ghost past defenders… is a must, especially in our setup. COYI

Best all around if the ball is judged out only where it’s on the ground. Going ‘over the line’ and returning is impossible to call. From now on anyone taking a corner on the right using their right foot will be deemed to have bent the ball out of play unless it heads towards the penalty spot. This will be grossly unfair but will be ‘in fashion’.
We don’t need these unneccessary decisions. Just change the interpretation of the ‘ball over the line’. If the ball isn’t touched between strike and landing, it must be in play. If someone clears behind the goal line – touched and over the line. Simple.
Went against us versus Man U. Ball ‘clearly’ over the line. But play on and deal with it. New interpretation would be beneficial all round.
