Pulis reveals David Moyes transfer plans

|

Tony Pulis has revealed David Moyes transfer strategy to Sky viewers on Saturday.

Pulis speaking on Sky Sports News (1:58pm, September 26, 2020) said: “I spoke to David Moyes this week and David is looking to bring one or two in.

“He knows he needs to improve it, but he also said that the squad, especially after the Arsenal game, he was absolutely delighted with the performance, obviously disappointed with the result, but he liked the performance and the attitude of the players.”

Before the Hammers trip to the Emirates Moyes told reporters he was edging towards some signings saying “Behind the scenes we have a couple of offers in on different players so I hope that we might have some news next week sometime. We want to bring in players that will give us a good balance to the squad. We also want to think clearly to get the right ones and that we do the right thing.”

Earlier this week David Sullivan insisted  “It’s the manager’s decision, he doesn’t want to bring in players who are just numbers, just squad players. He wants to bring players in who will improve the team. We have a number of bids in for a number if players, but teams don’t want to lose them; these are key players at decent-sized clubs, outside the UK.

“They don’t want to lose them so whether we get any of these players I do not know. We’ve got a very unbalanced squad. We’ve now got the funds to buy a player or two, but unfortunately at the moment the players the manager wants we can’t get, and he’ll be spending 18 hours a day looking at types trying to find players.

“I’m waiting for targets for the manager and we’ve got two or three bids in, but unfortunately the benchmark is very high and it’s very hard to get those players.”

There are just eight days remaining until the transfer window closes on 5th October with  David Moyes stuck in self-isolation until next Friday.
