Pundits predict Everton stalemate

|

TV pundits Mark LawensonPaulPaukl Merson both predict a share of the spoils this evening saying a draw is the most likely outcome.

Lawro writing on the BBC website said  “Which West Ham team will turn up this week, and in which half? They have been so up and down recently, it is hard to know.

Everton have been inconsistent too but I look at the way they played in the second half of their win over Chelsea before the international break and think they might be at the start of a little unbeaten run.”   Lawro has predicted a 1-1 draw.

Paul Merson tells Sky Sports website readers:  “You just don’t know what you’re going to get from West Ham. In fact, that applies to Everton too! I think Everton will be better away from the pressure of Goodison Park. I didn’t think there were going to come out for the second half of their last game against Chelsea, there was no point coming out.

I’ve never seen a turnaround like it in the Premier League. You see them on a Sunday morning when then wind is gale force and a team plays downhill, but not in the top-flight. That win will have filled them with confidence and I think they will express themselves at the London Stadium. I predict goals.

Merson predicts a 2-2 score draw.

Bookies make West Ham the 6/4 favourites for the win with Everton 2/1 for an away win and 5/2 for the draw.

Claret and Hugh predict a 2-1 win for the Hammers.
