Question mark over this Hammer’s future

|

ObiangWest Ham may be ready to consider bids for Pedro Obiang should a “sensible offer” be made for the midfielder.

The £4 million signing from Sampdoria has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team this season amid regular rumours that he could be on his way in the summer.

Napoli and Palermo continue to show an interest in the player who was brought into the club before Slaven Bilic was made manager.

Sources close to the player have told ClaretandHugh that although the player is happy in London he is desperate to get regular first team football – and with the Hammers strengthening this summer, things could even get harder for him.

Obiang has buckled down to the task of winning a place in the team very professionally after his agent Jose Miguel Gonzalez commented publicly that he would consider a move if the right offer came.

And an offer which gives the Irons their money back on the 24 year old could well succeed when the transfer window opens.

He’s been very unlucky this season. When he has played he’s looked good and never let us down.I hate to lose good players but i suppose we have to be fair with Pedro. He will go elsewhere and shine as is so often the case. Sad to lose him though.

Obaing is well worth more than £4m and we would be crazy to let him go to another premiership team. Would much rather keep him. Song is off and we have the Norwegian guy coming over (name escapes me) so for strength in depth I would rather keep Obaing espicially if we do make it into the European spots. Stay with us Pedro, your time will come and the future with West Ham is a bright and exciting one.

considering he gets thrusted in and doesn’t ever seem to get a run of games, he looks decent. Id like to think he would be up there with kouyate and noble if he had the same run of games. I think keeping him along with adding nordveit, really would show we mean business.

It’s down to whether he would make a squad spot after any business in the summer. If we are not going to give him playing time, then it’s only fair to let him ply his trade elsewhere, then reinvest/upgrade with what we would get for him and the salary freed up.

It is certainly true that he has not let us down when he’s been on the pitch.

We play better when he plays but never seems to get 90 minutes even when he is playing well,
Maybe Slav does not rate him but at 24 now part of our set up and seems happy, why off load him,
We have filled our side with layers that attack and yes that is great and very entertaining
But we leak goals because we lack true defensive players, only Ogbonna ,Ginge and Tomkis took happy in there defensive roles and happy on the ball,
Cressie and Byram are ok but like Antonio are happier going forward,
Pedro,Noble Nordvelt ( if he arrives) and Poyet like tackles
Kouyate puts his soul in every part of his game but he all about energy and movement
Keep the lad for at least one more year and give him a run it could sort us leaking goals

It would be a travesty if Pedro were to leave us. He has performed well on every occasion he has been presented with.

If we are to progress on many fronts next season, then we are going to need , in effect two teams (one for cups and one for league) and there should be competition to be in either, with players moving between the two.
Slaven may not be picking him now , favouring other options at the present time, but next year is a whole new ball game literally.

As supporters we all have our say on players , some we like , some we are not so sure of , but we must show faith in the manager , he’s had a great start with us and he’s had a year to run his finger and assess the squad , he should have a better idea as to our requirements for next season , we can speculate all we like but we have to let Bilic do his thing and then when the season starts we can see if his choices have worked . Like most I like obiang , he’s young and settled , but its not our choice , its a big year next term , give Bilic the dosh and don’t scrimp and let’s see if he can make us even better .
Until we are a big big club we will not be able to keep 18-20 top players happy , were not there yet and Bilic has a huge job on his hands , I trust the man so let’s see what happens.
