Hot Hammers prospect Martin Samuelsen is all set for a Championship loan deal next season.
The club will take the advice of Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry and loan the player out until the January transfer window.
Samuelsen has made great progress in League One like compatriot Reece Burke at Bradford City and David Sullivan, David Gold, Slaven Bilic and Development team chief Terry Westley have been pleased with the teenager’s development.
Fry had told ClaretandHugh that he believed this was the best way forward several weeks ago and an insider told us this afternoon: “That is very much the plan.
“Martin needs to man up and be thrown into really competitive football. Barry was spot on with his assessment and that’s the road the club is set to go down next season.
“He could go out at the start of the season and come back toughened up and ready for Premier League action even by January.”
Buns, I totally agree. I feel we should be playing him occasionally in first team when we can. That will encourage his dev I’m sure – good enuf/old enuf
Of course they want our Talented Young Players, we have seen this happen fat too many times, other Premiership clubs give Young Talent a chance. How many times have we loaned players out, bring them back play them in a weakened cup team then.just let them go!
Samuelsen & Burke need to be brought through in Our Club & Colours!
Totally agree Bubs, but I think it was actually Fry saying that Martin should leave Posh next season and play in the Championship. Which is a bit weird I know.
Out voted again,
Just hope he does not get rippled by some old pro or thug trying to revenge him making them look dumb,
If we need him to muscle up get him a personal trainer ?
If we need him to learn let him follow Payet and Lanzini around until they get fed up looking bad next to him
When you have a kid trying to walk early you don’t tie his legs together to slow him down you encourage him to do better,
Give the Viking his wings play him against everyone in the friendlies then decide weather it’s to early
Fry just wants a talent on the cheap at his club next year
