Randolph gets heavyweight backing

|

Randolph-645947Phil Parkes insists that Darren Randolph needs to be given a run of games and hopes Slaven Bilic holds his nerve on the goalkeeping issue.

Parkesy – widely recognised as the Hammers best stopper ever- reckons Randolph’s presence against Spurs on Saturday was a major reason for the much improved performance from the team  for 95 per cent of the game.

Hetold ClaretandHugh: “Everybody agrees that we were outstanding at the back and I think the change in keeper clearly contributed to that.

“Darren took some criticism for palming the low cross from which Harry Kane scored but he had to go for it and can probably consider himself unfortunate.

“By and large he was confident and composed and I want him to get a run of games in the team. I think Adrian can benefit from a rest because he was beginning to look uncertain and it as spreading through the team.

“There’s very little between them at their best but Daren has been patient and professional. Now he needs to be give a real shot at it.”

He had no chance to hold either. Both were instinctive, both could have gone anywhere. Just unlucky they fell where they did.Would Adrian have done any different?
