Breaking news: Spurs rejected me, reveals Oxford

|

arsenal-vs-west-ham1Reece Oxford has revealed north London rivals Spurs turned down the chance to sign him!

After stifling the threat of Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla, the 16-year-old’s revelation will be greeted with high good humour by the Claret and Blue army.

Oxford’s contribution at the Emirates was key to the Hammers securing a precious 2-0 win over Arsenal yesterday afternoon

The young midfielder joined the Hammers at under-13 level after being shown the White Hart Lane exit and said: “I was at Tottenham for a while, but they did not want me, and I went to West Ham, which was the best option for me.

“I was a striker back then [at Spurs]. The [West Ham] youth academy is great. They like to push players, we have a few youngsters playing [in the] under-21s, which is good.

“West Ham have been giving the young players a chance. Last season I was on the bench a few times, so I expected to be around the team again this season – but not starting against Arsenal.”

And just to put things in their proper perspective, Reece will be receiving his GCSE results next week!

Let’s hope his as successful in the classroom as he is on the football pitch!

Will be a great signing if he passes it. He is a better player than Downing and will give us better balance down that right side as well as helping out Jenks defensively which he requires. Midfield we are looking so strong and I hope that Reece Oxford gets a longer run to improve, out of the players in the team yesterday would be Noble that I would drop to make way for Barton.

One of my best buddies is QPR fan.He reckons Barton put in a real good shift last year for them.If Slav wants him then thats fine.I aint going to doubt his judgement after yesterday, lol

Well whether true or not it has sent the Wetpants into a frenzy, lol, could be a tsunami on there soon 😀

Are you mental? If he signs I’m giving my season ticket away. Bloke is an utter ****. Not to mention the fact that he is 32. Would rather play Poyet IF you are going to drop Nobes, who I thought had a good game..for me it’s a step backwards. Hate that bloke with a passion. He put in a real shift while at QPR and look where that got them………

  • Ed the Hammer says:

Drop Noble for Barton? I think there’s a gas leak somewhere. Mans a head case. Unless the Daves think the current set up with Bilic and Dicks just isn’t violent enough?

    This is about Oxford,
Barton has not even signed yet and he is taking over our sites,
We just stared the season on a high we have players like Obiang,Poyet,Cullen!Alfitano and Lanzini not even involved yesterday why would we dream of dropping anyone who can breath for Barton,
When did he become a winger ( replace Jarvis ) bullocks
We do not need him full stop,
Hard luck Spuds ( is he the forward we are missing ) he did well in midfield for a centre half,

  • slaven a laugh says:

I think we can safely kiss goodbye to winning the Fair play league again this year. Perhaps they think that was the problem and we need a hard man or two.

  • bubs says:

Barton is no hard man just a back stabbing thug,
Our new Italian CH,Henry and Obaing are hard honest players,
    Barton is no Di Cannio,
He could spoil our whole season
