Fit again Reid back in the frame

|

Winston Reid is set to be fit for the opening Premier League season at Arsenal on Sunday.

The Kiwi has been missing from recent games after picking up a knock in training, and he has missed several pre season games as a result.

But coach, Julian Dicks, has reported Reid is now ready to start training, which is great news for boss, Slaven Bilic, whose preferred pairing in the centre of defence looks likely to be Reid and Angel Ogbonna.

With James Collins and James Tomkins suspended in Europe, there’s an outside chance Reid could even be drafted into the team for the second leg Europa Cup clash against FC Astra on Thursday night.

But Bilic may well decide to ‘mix and match’ in Romania – making the Premier League  trip to Arsenal the priority.

after a couple of weeks out he starts training this week. Hopefully he’ll play sunday, but he won’t be fully fit. He could play half a game on thursday to help him for Sunday.
Our only CB not injured or sent off has been Ogbonna, and he is obviously still finding his feet.
I hope we don’t expect too much in the next few weeks. They will need our blind loyalty and support.
The sooner we sign a couple of strikers the better.

Reece Oxford is more than capable of filling in, when some of our more senior players seemed to be panicking last week after the sendings off, Oxford looked composed and calm, not sure if Henry is in the squad but if so he can travel as a sub and of course Kouyate can also play in that position..
