Hammers to appeal Jimenez work permit snub

|

RaulWest Ham are set to lodge an appeal in bid to secure a work permit for loan target Raul Jimenez.

The claim is made by The Sun, with the same paper also revealing the Hammers are set to pay Atletico Madrid a £1.4m fee for Jimenez’s season long loan deal.

Although the 24-year-old is a regular in the Mexican national team, new FIFA guidelines mean he does not automatically qualify for a UK work permit – and West Ham’s disappointed top brass are appealing to the Home Office in a bid to reverse this decision.

Jimenez has scored one goal in 28 games for Atletico. But his record of 39 goals in 102 games for Club America – and eight in 36 outings for Mexico – is enough to have turned heads at the Boleyn.

Seems best case scenario here is he doesn’t get his work permit.

Move on to someone else. What happened with trying to get Sow???

This guy will come in as the loan player,we will then look to pay for another striker to replace Valencia.Relax, bloody hell its like wetpants on here the last couple of days.

Christ some people seem so set on putting a downer on everything lately.

Simeone rated this lad highly enough to bring him over to Spain; Herrera thought the lad was good enough to feature regularly for his country but oh no! a couple of armchair managers think he pants, so guess that’s settled it.
So he scored 1 in 28 last year but almost all of those appearances have been in the last 10-15mins of games where the guy doesn’t get much more than a run out. His stint with Atletico aside, he was scoring at a rate better than 1 in 3 which is a decent return for a young striker and nothing suggests he couldn’t do well with us and more regular football.

Seems alot has changed in the week i have been away.I left & everyone was on a high for the coming season, comeback & after a couple of results people are now thinking we are crap.I was at the Astra game & until we went down to 10 men we played some really good stuff.Yesterday was a nothing match. If people suddenly expected Slav to come in wave a magic wand & have us playing like Arsenal they are crazy.Give the guy a chance, nothing is going to be settled & worth appraising for months.Lighten up for ffs 😀

  • rickthehammer63 says:

why the doom & gloom on here. Its early August & some peeps dissing Slav already give the bloke a chance as the football ive seen so far is alot better than the dross served up by hippo head just waiting for him to take over a poxy club so we can offload some deadwood in Slav I trust

Would he have got a work permit if Man City Or Man U ,Liverpool or Chelski had tried to sign him ?
We get turned down next week he will sign for Villa or Swansea and they get a permit,
I don’t get it he has played 32 times for his country
How did Falcoe get a permit for Chelski ?
He can’t score his country is no higher rated then Mexico ?
One rule for the super rich one rule for us
We won’t need him when Austin signs, the lad from PSG arrives on loan,

  • MyOldMan says:

I think he needs to have played 75% of Mexico’s games in the last 2 years to auto qualify, so I guess he falls just short of that. Only chance is that we convince the permit panel that he is an exceptional talent that will contribute to the development of foot ball in the UK. Think we may have a tough time with that one.

Thanks MOM did not know that was part of the format,
