Former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has agreed terms with Leicester City on a short-term deal until the end of the season. He takes with him with John Terry and Craig Shakespeare as part of the coaching staff with the Foxes currently 19th in the Premier League and two points from safety.

The Midlands club had been linked with a move for former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch but it is believed talks broke down over the length of contract. It would appear that Smith was willing to work within the parameters of a short-term deal in the hope of securing the role on a permanent basis.

Dean Smith has taken over from Brendan Rodgers

Leicester dropped into the bottom three of the Premier League following a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth and currently have the joint worst form in the division alongside Nottingham Forest.

West Ham’s final league game of the season is at the King Power Stadium on may the 28th, in what could turn out to be a relegation decider.
